London After Hours

September 14th, 2017

The majority of major cities across the world still continue to operate after hours, if you look in the right places. London is no different with a lot of their entertainment hubs operating into the early hours of the morning especially during the weekends when young professionals look to forget about their taxing work schedules and have fun.

As capital cities go, London has a myriad of entertainment on offer to its residents and to travelers who are new to the city. With that in mind we thought we’d divulge some of the best places to visit if you don’t necessarily want to have an early night.

Shoreditch

Over the last couple of years Shoreditch has been pegged as the uber hip region of London. Fashionistas walking the streets in Shoreditch are as regular as oxygen is available to inhale. It’s also a hub for live music with venues such as the cool Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen a regular haunt for the fledgling indie bands – it’s also a very reputable eatery where you can get a great burger. All of this can usually be done on a budget too, with the bar being one of the more affordable in the area.

It’s also home to the legendary Spitalfields Market, which was once predominantly a food market. It now offers an eclectic mix of goods from an array of different cultures with represents modern day London.

Piccadilly

Situated in the affluent area of Mayfair, Piccadilly comes alive at nighttime. It’s well known for its huge electronic advertising boards, which you can view in the main picture above.

Piccadilly has so many live entertainment offerings; from the Royal Academy of Arts which regularly puts on shows, as well as the Apollo Theatre, which is the ideal place to see contemporary comedy in London. Piccadilly is also home to the oldest operating casino in the country in the form of Crockford’s per Mayfair Casinos information pages.

Camden

Another bustling hub of creativity, Camden is one of the party capitals of London. This is also famous for regular putting on great live music with the region having several notable live venues. The pick of them in probably Electric Ballroom, which regularly holds club nights for music fans and also is set to host the likes of rock band Against Me!, indie darlings Cloud Nothings and Neneh Cherry in the upcoming months.

If you have been to London recently, or you live there feel free to impart some of your knowledge on these areas below.
